Mark Cavendish wins the London-Surrey Cycle Classic, one of the biggest test events for London 2012
The London 2012 Olympics may not be starting until the end of July but there are plenty of related events happening before then.
Not least among them is the 70-day Olympic torch relay starting in Land's End, Cornwall, on May 19.The relay will cover the whole of the country, passing through 1018 locations, before finishing in central London.
That will be on July 26, the day before the Games begin with a spectacular opening ceremony at the Olympic stadium in east London.
Between now and there will be a whole series of test events including shooting, archery, football, swimming and athletics.
Here is a list of all the key Olympic dates from April 18 to August 29 when the Paralympics get under way:
